“You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself.” — Jim Rohn
Greetings: Welcome to YOUR MINDSET MATTERS a weekly newsletter
Take Back Control:
Stop Letting Life Push You Around
Picture this:
You’re standing at the edge of a vast ocean.
The waves crash against you, each one stronger than the last, pulling you under, pushing you in directions you never chose.
No matter how hard you try to resist, the current keeps dragging you away from where you want to be.
That’s what powerlessness feels like.
It’s waking up every morning knowing you were meant for more—
but feeling stuck, trapped in a life that doesn’t quite fit.
It's watching others make decisions for you because you don’t fully trust yourself.
It’s seeing opportunities slip through your fingers because fear whispers,
You’re not ready yet.
But let me remind you of something: You were never meant to be powerless.
The world will keep throwing waves at you, testing your footing,
seeing how easily you’ll be knocked down.
If you don’t take control of your own life, life will control you.
If you want freedom, success, and the power to shape your future,
you have to stand up, plant your feet, and decide: No more.
How to Reclaim Your Power
1. Refuse to Be a Victim
Weakness invites manipulation. When you surrender control of your emotions, your choices, and your future, you make yourself an easy target for those who thrive on taking advantage of others.
Your first act of power? Stop playing the victim.
2. Redefine Power
Power isn’t about dominating others—it’s about owning yourself. It’s the ability to make clear decisions, face challenges head-on, and walk through fire without breaking.
True power is the strength to say, I will not be defeated.
3. Stop Nurturing Your Weaknesses
Weaknesses don’t disappear on their own. Every excuse, every hesitation, every moment of self-doubt—these are chains that hold you back. Break them. Identify where you’re giving yourself permission to stay small, then make a choice:
Grow, or stay stuck.
4. Test Yourself—You May Not Be as Strong as You Think
Life will test you, whether you’re ready or not. And when that moment comes, you don’t want to realize that you’re weaker than you thought. Strength isn’t built in comfort.
Push yourself now—before life does it for you.
5. Step Outside the Comfort Zone—That’s Where Growth Lives
Comfort is a slow, silent killer. It lulls you into a false sense of security while stealing your potential. Want to grow? Do the hard things. Have tough conversations. Take the risks.
Every challenge you face makes you sharper, stronger, and less breakable.
6. Become the Person You Fear to Be
That bold, fearless, unstoppable version of you? They’re already inside you, waiting. The only thing standing in the way is fear.
Step into that person—because the world is waiting for you to show up as your full, unshakable self.
7. Turn Pain Into Power
Pain isn’t meant to break you—it’s meant to shape you. Every failure, every setback, every disappointment holds a lesson. The question isn’t Why is this happening to me? The question is:
How can I use this? Train yourself to turn every struggle into fuel.
8. Face Your Fears or Be Owned By Them
Fear controls those who refuse to confront it. Most people live small lives not because they aren’t capable, but because they’re too afraid to step into the unknown. Do the things that scare you.
Fear loses its power when you refuse to bow to it.
9. Become Antifragile—Struggles Should Make You Stronger
Some people break under pressure. Others get sharper, stronger, and more unstoppable. Be the latter.
Let every challenge refine you into someone who cannot be shaken.
10. Be Courageous—Your Future Depends on It
Courage isn’t about having no fear—it’s about moving forward despite it. The breakthrough you’re searching for? It’s hiding right behind the thing you’re afraid to do. Run toward it.
That’s where your power is waiting.
Will You Be Powerless or Unstoppable?
Life isn’t going to wait for you to feel “ready.”
If you don’t take control, something—or someone—else will.
So ask yourself:
Are you going to keep floating through life,
letting the waves carry you wherever they please?
Or will you stand up, plant your feet, and take control?
The storm isn’t going away.
But you don’t have to be the leaf tossed in the wind.
You can be the one who stands tall, unshaken.
Your power has always been there.
It’s time to use it.
If this resonates with you, let’s talk.
No pressure, no sales pitch—just a conversation about where you are,
where you want to be,
and how to bridge that gap.

💡 Tip of the Week: Action Step for This Week:
Take Back Control with a “Power Audit”
This week, set aside 15 minutes to do a Power Audit—
a simple but eye-opening exercise to see where you’re giving away your power.
Step 1: Identify Where You Feel Powerless
Grab a notebook and write down:
Where in your life do you feel stuck, frustrated, or controlled by circumstances?
Are there situations where you hesitate to make decisions or second-guess yourself?
Are there people who drain your energy or make you doubt yourself?
Step 2: Choose One Small Action to Reclaim Your Power
Look at your list and ask yourself:
What is one small step I can take this week to regain control?
Can I set a boundary, make a decision, speak up, or take action—no matter how small?
Step 3: Take That Action
Power isn’t just about thinking differently—it’s about acting differently.
Choose one thing and do it. Confidence and strength grow with every step forward.
Let me know how it goes! If you need help figuring out where to start,
reach out—I’d love to chat.
🏋️️ Exercise for the Week: 🏋️️:
The “I Decide” Practice
One of the biggest signs of powerlessness is feeling like life is happening to you instead of because of you. This simple exercise helps you shift that mindset and take back control.
Step 1: Recognize Where You Feel Stuck
Think about an area of your life where you feel powerless—your career, relationships, habits, or confidence.
Write it down in a sentence that starts with: “I feel powerless when…”
Example: I feel powerless when I let others make decisions for me.
Step 2: Reframe It with Power
Rewrite the statement, replacing powerlessness with a choice.
Use the phrase: “I decide…”
Example: I decide to trust my own judgment and make my own choices.
Step 3: Take One Small Action
Power is built through action. Choose one small way to prove your new decision.
Example: If your new statement is “I decide to speak up for myself,” your action could be having one direct conversation this week.
Step 4: Repeat Daily
Every morning, write down: “Today, I decide…” and complete the sentence with a choice that makes you stronger.
By doing this consistently, you train your mind to take control instead of giving it away.
Try it for a week and see what shifts. And if you need guidance, let’s chat.

📚🌟Book Recommendation:
“The Mountain Is You” – Brianna Wiest
This book is all about breaking self-sabotage and stepping into your true power. It helps readers understand how they unconsciously keep themselves stuck and offers practical steps to change that.
The Mountain Is You is a must-read for anyone looking to overcome self-sabotage and build a stronger mindset. Brianna Wiest does an incredible job of breaking down why we hold ourselves back and how to shift our thinking toward self-mastery and personal growth.
One of the central themes in the book is the idea that our external reality mirrors our internal state. Wiest suggests that if we want to change our lives, we must first change our internal beliefs and attitudes.
🤔 A Thought-Provoking Question for You 💭
“Where in your life are you waiting for permission to take control?”
Most people don’t even realize they’re waiting—waiting for the right moment, for someone else’s approval, or for circumstances to change.
But power isn’t given; it’s taken.
Can you think about one area where you’ve been hesitant to act?
Your challenge is to make one decision this week that moves you forward.
